• Siemens new servo drive system with Sinamics S210 drive and Simotics S-1FK2 motor

• High dynamic performance and accuracy combined with advanced "Octal Cable (OCC)" technology

• Integrates powerful safety functions and enables rapid engineering and commissioning

• Servo drive system has 5 power levels (50-750 W)

With the perfect combination of the Simotics S-1FK2 motor and the Sinamics S210 drive, Siemens introduced a new servo drive system with 5 power levels (50-750 W). The motor and drive are connected to the higher-level controller via Profinet and the webserver and one-click optimization are used to simplify the commissioning process. With Simotics servomotors, small loads enable highly dynamic, high-precision movements. The motor is connected to the drive via a "single cable (OCC)". The Sinamics S210 driver integrates powerful safety functions and enables rapid engineering. The new drive system can be applied in the fields of packaging, handling and grabbing, woodworking, ceramic processing and digital printing.

The Sinamics S210 driver focuses on highly dynamic motor axis control. The driver uses integrated Webserver debugging, and the one-click optimization function allows the automatic optimization of control parameters to adapt to different dynamic performance requirements. The integrated safety functions include STO (Safe Torque Off) and SS1 (Safe Stop 1). Both STO and SS1 can be executed via PROFIsafe. STO can also be started via terminals. Other functions are currently in preparation. Based on the combination of fast sampling and intelligent control algorithms of Sinamics S210 driver, high-precision encoder system and low rotor inertia and high overload capability, the servo drive system can achieve outstanding dynamic performance and accuracy.

Simotics S-1FK2 motors and drives are connected with OCC cables, where the power cables, encoder signal cables and brake cables share one ultra-thin cable (diameter of only 9 mm with one plug). The OCC cable has a very small cross-section and is thinner, lighter, and more flexible than the previous cable, which greatly simplifies the wiring process. Compared to conventional traction chain conductors, the use of a compact "single cable connection" reduces the bending radius by nearly half. The connector plug is a sturdy design with a height of 25 mm, which makes it turnable and easy to operate. The servo drive system features user-friendly self-locking plugs and push-side terminals for easy inspection and disassembly at the front, so wiring is extremely simple.
