Siemens TIA V20 helps users improve performance and efficiency
•Support the latest PLCs to ensure compatibility and improve performance
•Stronger safety performance, graphical codes can be presented in text form, and user operation is more convenient
•Use generative AI to help users improve performance, efficiency and collaboration
The latest version of Siemens' fully integrated automation software platform TIA Portal, TIA Portal V20, was recently unveiled at the Nuremberg International Electrical Automation System and Components Exhibition (SPS) in Germany. This engineering framework aims to improve industrial automation processes and accelerate project development by simplifying workflows and improving work efficiency.
TIA Portal V20 focuses on improving performance and efficiency, helping users shorten time to market, improve competitiveness and flexibly adapt to the ever-changing market. The new version integrates a new programmable logic controller (PLC) to simplify engineers' operations.
Rainer Brehm, CEO of Factory Automation at Siemens Digital Industries, explained: "The Totally Integrated Automation provided by TIA Portal is the foundation for software-defined automation. With TIA Portal V20, users can fully improve performance and better apply cutting-edge PLC features such as AI, integrated testing, and enhanced safety."
Fully Improved Performance and Safety
Siemens is committed to helping customers improve industrial production performance through its SIMATIC controller portfolio. TIA Portal V20 provides a series of new extensions, including support for new PLCs with advanced motion control and safety features. These new features include the newly released S7-1200 G2 controller, the improved performance of S7-1511/S7-1513, the new modular S7-1500 CPU, the high-performance class of process CPUs, and the new generation of software controller CPUs.
With TIA Portal V20, SIMATIC PLCs can be connected to the central user management system of the workshop. User Management Access Control (UMAC) allows service technicians to easily access workshop equipment using their standard corporate credentials while fully ensuring security. Administrators can manage automation devices efficiently in a standard way, just like managing software applications in IT architecture.
Comprehensive performance improvement
TIA Portal V20 also improves program optimization options and provides faster program operation analysis for service and maintenance, thereby further improving performance. Through updates to library functions and Project Server, the new version can better assist in version management and multi-person collaboration of engineering projects; the testing function in the TIA Portal test suite is another measure to improve performance, among which continuous regression testing can ensure the reliable code quality of all machines; Siemens Industrial Copilot seamlessly connects generative artificial intelligence with TIA Portal to support the daily work of automation engineers.
