How to choose a software version
EPLAN software is a big leap from P5 to P8. The P8 software has been out for so many years, and the update iteration speed of a version every year has caused confusion for many people. Is it the option to install the latest version or the old version?
First of all, in terms of cost, each version of the license must be paid for, and for most small companies, if the customer does not have the software version, it will not re-purchase the new version of the license. Each software version upgrade will add some new features more or less, fix the bug. The biggest problem is that the low version is not compatible with the high version of the program, this rule is a lot of software is the same. If the other software is not as high as your version, you will not be able to open your project. Many companies are still using 1.9 software, and I have a soft spot for version 2.2. The 2.4 version has too many small bugs, and 2.5 or more are basically 64-bit offices. Because of the functional things, there will be no big changes. Choosing a stable version with fewer bugs is the most important. Don't blindly pursue the latest.
Of course, if you want to use the data library component library, there will be another problem. The version before 2.4 is basically unable to use the above components directly, because he no longer supports the lower version of the software.
Second, the software comes with a project to learn
Every beginner will want to find a standardized project to study and study, and EPLAN's own DEMO project is a good example. From the project structure to the use of functions, it can be fully covered, and a living is a very standard project. Studying through the DEMO project benefits more than you can see many irregular drawings. Three parts are not so hard to create
The creation of the component library, when I first came into contact with this software, I couldn’t figure it out. Too many options to fill in, too many function parameters to define. After attending a training session, I found that it was not that difficult. Use the built-in parts, copy and paste, and then use the hoist to make a parameter change for each item, you can use it. Copy similar devices, change device parameters, and other functions as needed.
Four frame tables are difficult


One of EPLAN's great features is the ability to generate reports, and reports can choose which type to generate. At the same time, you can change some reports to meet your own project requirements. The frame is the same. For example, many American standard frames are two columns, so you need to modify it yourself. The method is still changed on the built-in DEMO frame. Unless you have enough knowledge of the chart function, it is not recommended to re-create it yourself. Because of some logical functional things, you can't cover everything.


Five attribute configuration is very much
Various functional components in the EPLAN software have many attribute configurations. It is recommended that you turn on the attribute code function, which is very helpful for you to find the attribute parameters. The various functions in the settings, you need to try one by one, help the document to explain some of the properties, of course, more abstract, difficult to understand, you need to constantly explore. If you have the conditions, you still have to go to some formal training, which will save you a lot of time and take a lot of detours.
