Last Updated on 2018-05-09 Hits:4635
The Siemens S7-200 programmable controller PLC is programmed using STEP7-Micro/WIN32 programming software. STEP7-Micro/WIN32 programming software is Windows-based application software, powerful, mainly used for the development of the program, can also be used to timely monitor the execution status of the user program. In addition to the finished program, it can be operated in a fully Chinese interface.
1. Installation conditions
Operating System: Windows 95 or later operating system.
Computer configuration: more than IBM486 compliant, 8MB or more memory, VGA monitor, at least 50MB hard disk space.
Communication cable: Use a PC/PPI cable to communicate between the programmable controller and the computer.
2. The composition of the programming software
STEP7-Micro/WIN32 programming software includes Microwin3.1; upgraded version of Microwin3.1 software Microwin3.1 SP1; Toolbox (includes Uss protocol command: Inverter communication, TP070: touch screen configuration software Tp Designer V1.0 designer) Toolbox; and programming software such as Microwin 3.11 Chinese (Microwin3.11 SP1 and Tp Designer's specialization tool).
3. Installation of programming software
Install in the order of Microwin 3.1 → Microwin 3.1 SP1 → Toolbox → Microwin 3.11 Chinese.
First install the English version of the programming software: Double-click the setup program SETUP.EXE in the programming software to complete the installation according to the installation prompts. Then, using Microwin 3.11 Chinese software, the programming software interface and help files are finished. Proceed as follows:
(1) In the CD-ROM directory, find the "mwin_service_pack_from V3.1 to 3.11" software package and follow the installation wizard to convert the original English version of the programming software to the 3.11 version.
(2) Open the "Chinese3.11" directory; double-click on the setup and follow the installation wizard to complete the localization of the patch.
(3) Complete the installation.
4. Establish communication of the S7-200 CPU

Figure 1 PLC and computer connection
PC/PPI cable can be used to establish communication between PC and PLC. This is a typical single-host connection to a PC and does not require any additional hardware. As shown in Figure 1. Both ends of the PC/PPI cable are RS-232 and RS-485 interfaces, and the RS-232 port is connected to the RS-232 COM port or COM2 port of the personal computer. The RS-485 port is connected to the S7-200 CPU port. There is a communication module in the middle of the PC/PPI cable. There is a baud rate setting switch outside the module. There are five kinds of baud rates that support the PPI protocol. They are: 1.2K, 2.4K, 9.6K, 19.2K, 38.4K. The default value of the system is 9.6K b/s. The position of the baud rate setting switch (DIP switch) of the PC/PPI cable should be consistent with the baud rate set by the software system. The DIP switch is shown in Figure 2. There are 5 keys on the DIP switch. Keys 1, 2 and 3 are used to set the baud rate. Keys 4 and 5 are used to set the communication method. The default value of the communication rate is 9600 bit/s. As shown in Figure 2, keys 1, 2 and 3 are set to 010. When no modem is used, keys 4 and 5 should be set to 0.

5. Communication parameter settings
After the hardware is set up, follow the steps below to set the communication parameters.
(1) Click the communication icon while STEP7-Micro/WIN32 is running, or select Communications from the View menu. A communication dialog will appear.
(2) Double-click on the PC/PPI cable icon in the dialog box. The dialog box for the PC/PG interface appears.
(3) Click the "Properties" button, the interface properties dialog box will appear, check the properties of each parameter is correct, beginners can use the default communication parameters, in the PC / PPI performance settings window press "default ( Default) button to get the default parameters. The default station address is 2 and the baud rate is 9600 b/s.
6. Establish an online connection
After the first few steps have been successfully completed, you can establish an online connection with the S7-200 CPU. The steps are as follows:
(1) Click the communication icon while STEP7-Micro/WIN32 is running, or select Communications from the View menu. A communication establishment result dialog box appears, showing whether the CPU host is connected.
(2) Double-click the refresh icon in the dialog box. The STEP 7-Micro/WIN32 programming software will check all connected S7-200 CPU stations. The CPU icon, CPU model, and station address of each station that has established a connection are displayed in the dialog box.
(3) Double-click the station to be communicated. In the communication setup dialog, the selected communication parameters can be displayed.
7. Modify the communication parameters of the PLC
After the computer and the programmable controller establish an online connection, they can use the software to check, set, and modify the communication parameters of the PLC. Proceed as follows:
(1) Click the system block icon in the browse bar, or select the "System Block" option from the "View" menu. The system block dialog box appears.
(2) Click the "Communication port" tab, check each parameter, and click OK after confirmation. If you need to modify some parameters, you can first make the relevant changes, and then click "confirm".
(3) Click the download button on the toolbar to download the modified parameters to the programmable controller, and the set parameters will take effect.
8. Reading of programmable controller information
Select the menu command "PLC", find "Information", will show the programmable controller RUN / STOP status, scan rate, CPU model error conditions and the information of each module.
